David Lewis, Rhodes scholar at Oxford University, was elected president of the Oxford Debating Union, a report received here says. This is one of the few occasions on which an outside student has been named to the presidency of this university’s debating society.

Lewis, young Jewish graduate of McGill University, was recognized as a brilliant scholar and speaker and the new laurels that he has gained are considered to be well-merited.
