Attempts of an anti-Semitic Yugoslavian newspaper published by White Russians to attribute the murder of the late King Alexander to Jews brought an immediate rebuke from Warda, influential Yugoslav paper.
“In these historic days of intrigue, errors and follies must be thrown overboard,” Warda insisted. “If we Serbs remain masters of our feelings, the same rule must apply to the Russians living in our midst.
“The Jews of Yugoslavia and the Jews of the world had great friends in Serbia and in the late king. What interest could the Jews have in destroying Yugoslavia when it goes so well with them here?
