Services Today for E. Frenkel, Insurance Man

Funeral services for Emil Frenkel, an insurance broker here for more than half a century, will be held this morning at Temple Emanu-El.

Mr. Frenkel, founder of Frenkel & Co., 80 Maiden lane, died Wednesday in his home, 8 East Eighty-first street, of coronary thrombosis after a short illness. He was seventy-nine years old.

A native of Nordhausen, Germany, Mr. Frenkel came to the United States in 1878. After a brief insurance experience in Cleveland he established himself permanently in New York.

ON ORPHANAGE BOARD

Mr. Frenkel was a member of the board of directors of the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, and belonged to the Metropolis Club, the Harmonie Club, Lotos Club and New York State Chamber of Commerce.

He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Carrie F. Sinn, and two sons, Leo S. and George P. Frenkel, partners in their father’s firm.
