Mr. and Mrs. Fred Margareten will celebrate the bar-mitzvah of their son, Jerome, at Congregation Kehillath Jeshurun, 117 East Eighty-fifth street, tomorrow. Sunday evening a reception will be held for members of the family and friends.
Jerome is the great-grandson of Reb Samuel Horowitz who, in 1884, founded the now famous Horowitz-Margareten matzoh baking firm. His grandmother, Regina Margaretsen, is still the titular head of the concern.
Fred Margareten, the confirmand’s father, represents the third generation of the family to guide the destinies of the matzoh bakery.
