Funeral services for Hyman D. Baker, prominent real estate man, who died in Los Angeles Wednesday, will be held in New York. The body was on its way here by train yesterday. Arrangements for the services have not yet been completed.

Mr. Baker, head of H. D. Baker & Son, 565 Fifth avenue, was 73 years old. He lived at the Hotel Wyndham here and was accustomed to spending his winters in California.

For nearly forty years Mr. Baker had been an active and successful real estate operator and broker here. He participated in 1927 in a $9,000,000 deal in which the Lincoln Hotel was sold by the Chanin Construction Company to the United Cigar Company.

He was one of the brokers in the sale of the old site of Temple Emanu-El at Forty-third street and Fifth avenue. Born in Petrograd, Russia, Mr. Baker was about 30 when he came to the United States.

Besides his widow, he is survived by four children, Henry D. Baker, Mrs. Rose Jaffe, Mrs. Lucille Bennett and Mrs. Anne Leman.
