A duel between an orthodox Jewish member of the Polish parliament and a Zionist member of the Warsaw municipal council was averted here today because the Jewish religion prohibits dueling.

Deputy L. Minzberg, leader of the Agudath Israel, orthodox party, was challenged by Dr. Kraus, Zionist alderman and president of the Executive of the Jewish Artisans Association, for an allegedly insulting remark made by the parliamentarian reflecting against Dr. Kraus.

Deputy Minzberg refused to accept the challenge, suggesting other means of settling the incident.
