Toscanini to Lead Musicians’ Benefit

Arturo Toscanini will conduct a special all-Wagner concert at Carnegie Hall on February 13, the anniversary of the German composer’s death, for the benefit of the Orchestra Pension Fund of the Philharmonic-Symphony Society

The program will include the “Flying Dutchman” overture, the preludes to Acts I and III of “Lohengrin,” Siegfried’s death and funeral music, the prelude to “Die Meistersinger,” the Siegfried Idyl, the Good Friday spell from “Parsifal” and the prelude and “Liebestod” from “Tristan and Isolde.”
