An agreement between the Joint Distribution Committee and the Zionist Organization of America, to carry out jointly the present year’s drive for funds under the United Jewish Appeal, has been reached by these two institutions, it was disclosed here today by Dr. Georg Landauer, secretary of the Jewish Agency’s office for the settlement of German Jews in Palestine, who reached Berlin on his way to Palestine from America.

Dr. Landauer also disclosed the fact that the allocations committee of the United Jewish Appeal in America has fixed the sum of $250,000 for settling German Jews in Palestine.

EXPLAINS VISIT TO U. S.

“The purpose of my visit to America,” Dr. Landauer stated, “was to negotiate with the allocations committee of the United Jewish Appeal with regard to the participation in the work of settling German Jews in Palestine. Secondly, to conclude an agreement with regard to a new drive, and thirdly to report to the Administrative Committee of the Jewish Agency on the progress and the results of the settlement work in Palestine.”

Dr. Landauer’s present visit to Berlin is in connection with a number of technical details relating to the settlement of German Jews
