Bishop Francis J. McConnell of the Methodist Episcapal Church will appear at Congregation Rodeph Sholem, 7 West Eighty-third street, on Sunday morning. While occupying the pulpit at the West Side synagogue Bishop McConnell will deliver his views on the subject “Nationalism: Whither Is It Leading Us?”
Dignitaries of the Christian churches have spoken at Rodeph Sholom from time to time in the past, but it is believed that Bishop McConnell’s appearance Sunday will mark the first occasion in several years that a Christian clergyman of his eminence has been heard at the regular Sunday morning services there.
