Miss Anne Berdell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Berdell, gave a tea at her home in Rock Ridge on the afternoon of January 29 for Miss Caral Gimbel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard F. Gimbel of Greenwich. Miss Berdell was one of the bridesmaids at Miss Gimbel’s marriage to Edward Lasker on February 1.

Among the guests at the party were the Misses Nancy Strauss, Frances Lasker, Josephine Taggart, Kitty Newman, Barbara Gingham, Alice Browning, Mary Jane Moore, Nancy White, Valle Ewing, Virginia Ferguson, Audrey Madden and Helen Spaulding, Mrs. Thomas Sherwood, Mrs. Franklin G. Chapin Jr. and Mrs. Richard Chapman.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Krakeur of this city have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Louise Krakeur, to Herbert A. Goldstone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham L. Goldstone, also of New York.

Miss Krakeur was graduated from Ethical Culture School and later attended Columbia University. She is a granddaughter of the late Henry Solomon, former New York State prison commissioner. Mr. Goldstone was graduated from the Horace Mann School and from Cornell University in 1927.

Mr. and Mrs. Leopold Strauss of 325 East Seventy-ninth street have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Sue L. Strauss, to Lawrence B. Lehman, son of Mrs. Benjamin Lehman of Chicago and the late Mr. Lehman.

Miss Strauss studied at the Chateau Brillantmont in Lausanne, Switzerland, and Mr. Lehman was graduated in 1930 from the Sheffield Scientific School at Yale University. The wedding will take place in the Spring.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis G. Strasser of 277 Park avenue and White Plains have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Mary R. Strasser, to Leonard C. Hirsch of White Plains, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hirsch. Both Miss Strasser and Mr. Hirsch were graduated from the Roger Asham School in 1930. Mr. Hirsch attended Lehigh University.

The wedding will take place on February 14.

The engagement of Miss Janice Lanzit, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mortimer Lanzit of this city, to Saul Robert Mielzinger of Cleveland has been announced. Miss Lanzit attended the Institute of Musical Art and Columbia University. Mr. Mielziner was graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology at Pittsburgh. The wedding will take place in June.

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Helen Mandlebaum, daughter of Mrs. Jo##ph H. Mandlebaum of Mount Vernon, N. Y., and the late Mr. Mandlebaum, to Dr. Peter Vogel son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Vogel of Wallingford, Conn.

The confirmation of Master Nathan Feldman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Feldman, took place last Saturday at the Honeywell Avenue Center. In honor of the event a reception and dinner was held at the Prospect Mansion on Sunday night.
