A crowd of ##cited, blind beggars invaded the offices of the Jewish community here, demanding that they be supplied with licenses which would permit them to beg in public places. Police, called in to quiet the disturbance, had to use force to remove the supplicants.

A crowd of more than a hundred beggars invaded the community house a short time ago, insisting that a police ban on begging had left them without means of subsistance and asking for aid from the Jewish community. Raising a tremendous uproar by playing their various instruments all at once and stamping with their crutches, the beggars threatened at the time that unless they were assisted they would return to press their demands.
