The necessity of aiding the hard-pressed Jews of Danzig was stressed today by the Danziger Echo, Jewish newspaper, in commenting on the forthcoming Anglo-Jewish drive for the poverty-stricken Jews of Poland.
Expressing the hope that central Jewish agencies would take steps to aid the Jews of Danzig, the paper pointed out that the community, which is small in numbers and is faced with a vigorous anti-Semitic movement, is compelled to take care of its own indigents and receives no aid from the Free City. Forty Jewish families are being assisted by the Jewish winter relief group in Danzig, the Echo stated.
