Several Jewish students were arrested today on charges of leading a demonstration before the offices of the Jewish Community, demanding that the Community pay tuition for Jewish students in Wilno University, from which numerous Jewish students had been ousted for non-payment of fees.

The demonstrators besieged the Jewish Community offices and stationed guards at every entrance to the building. A delegation of ousted students then appeared before the Community officers and informed them that they would not be permitted by the demonstrators to leave the building until the matter of reinstating the ousted Jewish students in the university was settled satisfactorily.

The police, who arrived at the place of the demonstration, dispersed the demonstrators and arrested all of those who were found in the building. A special police guard was then placed before the offices of the Jewish Community in order to prevent any possible clashes.
