Lester Baum, an older brother of Morton Baum, succeeded Morton as a member of the Board of Aldermen yesterday, representing the ninth aldermanic district of Manhattan.
Morton Baum has become special assistant corporation counsel in charge of the Bureau of Emergency Taxes in the Department of Finance. Lester Baum was formally elected by the Board of Aldermen today, sworn in by Mayor LaGuardia, and welcomed by Aldermanic President Bernard S. Deutsch.
