Learning that two Jewish women are on a hunger strike in the Bethlehem jail, demanding speedy trial on charges of illegally entering Palestine, Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, High Commissioner of Palestine, today ordered release on bail.

It has been established today that the strike of the two women has been going on for seven days, but the police concealed this fact, Upon today’s order by the High Commissioner, the chief police inspector approached Jewish leaders to arrange the bail for the two women, who, it is expected, will be released within the next twenty-four hours.
