In his foreword to the work Dr. Hertz declares:
“A reliable English translation of the whole Babylonian Talmud has long been looked forward to by scholars. This expectatation is about to be realized by the Soncino edition, of which the Order Neziken has just appeared.”
The translation is based on the text of the Wilno Talmud.
