The number of Jewish refugees from Germany is expected to increase considerably, due to the new wave of anti-Jewish persecutions in the Reich, it is predicted in an appeal issued here today over the signatures of Marquis Reading, Lionel Rothschild, Dr. Chaim Weizmann, Dr. Nahum Sokolow and Chief Rabbi Hertz.

The appeal calls upon the Jews of England now, more than ever, to help the German Jews in their distress. The pressure which the Nazis are now exerting against the Jews in Germany does not seem to be diminishing, it is emphasized in the appeal.

The call to British Jewry was issued in connection with the third campaign for funds started in England to help Jews in Germany adjust themselves to new professions and German-Jewish refugees in England to find work in exile. More than $250,000 has already been contributed to the Central British Fund for this purpose, ### was announced today.
