The barter agreement between certain Jewish groups in Palestine and Nazi Germany will remain in effect, according to a decision adopted today after a stormy all night session of the Zionist Actions Committee, rejecting the proposal of the Zionist Revisionists to void the compact.
The majority of the political committee today rejected a proposal that Palestine be withdrawn from supervision of the League of Nations and proclaimed a British Ervim colony. The political committee also discussed various problems concerning Arab-Jewish relations in Palestine.
PERSONAL LOANS BARRED
A resolution forbidding a director of a Zionist bank to take personal loans from the bank, was adopted today by the banking committee and reported to the general session of the Actions Committee. This resolution was adopted as a result of the liquidation of the Jewish Colonial Trust, the Zionist bank established by Dr. Theodor Herzl.
Meer Grossman, reporting to the Actions Committee in behalf of the Banking Committee, explained that the Jewish Colonial Trust was liquidated because of financial difficulties faced by three large debtors of the bank. He stated that insufficient care was taken by the directors of the bank in granting large credits to a number of individuals. The banking committee voiced the hope, however, that the losses would be made good.
“While the position of the Anglo-Palestine Bank, the second Zionist bank, is very firm and its business is being conducted in the best order, our banking commission nevertheless decided to forbid the members of the board of directors to take any personal loans from this or any other Zionist bank,” Mr. Grossman reported.
