Prof. Bentwich, in an address yesterday morning at Temple Rodeph Sholom, 7 West Eighty-third street, outlined the problems faced by the League of Nations Commission for Refugees.
“One of the most serious phases of the refugee problem,” he said, “is that of the 10,000 to 12,000 Jews from Germany who are now in France. A means must be found, somewhere in the world, to place these refugees and to reestablish them in work this year.”
Prof. Bentwich said that the majority of the 23,000 German Jews who had settled in Palestine are integrating themselves into the country’s life with enthusiasm.” He declared that “the movement of German-Jewish youth into Palestine must continue this year at the same rate as during the past two years.”
