Palestine as a health center where people will go, not in search of material prosperity, but principally for happiness and sound health, was visualized by Dr. Morris Levine, associate professor at the Columbia Post Graduate Medical School, upon his return from Palestine on the Conte de Savoi, following a stay of eight months in the Holy Land.
Dr. Levine, returning to resume his duties at the Post Graduate Medical School, stated that Palestine is in the process of developing into one of the most important health centers in the Near East.
Summarizing the results of his study of Palestine climatic conditions and their healing qualities, Dr. Levine expressed his regret that not enough attention has been paid to these great natural resources of the country.
Prior to his departure for the United States, the city council of Tel Aviv adopted a special resolution of appreciation to Dr. Levine for the dramatic part he played in helping Meier Dizengoff, the venerable mayor of the all-Jewish city, recover from a critical illness, which had caused anxiety among Palestine Jewry and among the numerous friends and admirers abroad of Tel Aviv’s principal builder.
