New Farm Bank to Be Formed by Palestine

An announcement that an Agricultural Mortgage Bank for long term loans will be established shortly by the Palestine government, was made today by Sir Arthur Wauchope, the High Commissioner of Palestine, addressing the Farmer Day celebration in Acre.

The loans will be granted at low interest rates, the High Commissioner said. The government will also continue its annual grant of $15,500 for the Research Institute in Rehoboth, he added.

The High Commissioner emphasized the fact that the Palestine government is interested in doing everything to insure rural prosperity in Palestine.

PUSH REFORESTATION

Special interest is taken by the government in the reforestation of Palestine. There are today more than 3,000,000 trees in the country, the High Commissioner stated.
