Rabbis Preparing 35th Convention

One hundred and fifty American rabbis, representing congregations from all over the United States and Canada will gather at Rockaway Park, L. I., for the thirty-fifth annual convention of the Rabbinical Assembly of America, from May 13 to May 15. Matters of vital importance to followers of traditional Judaism in America will be discussed and action taken to make adjustments of the traditional law to meet present day conditions.

There will be sessions devoted to contemporary social trends, a program for American Judaism, Jewish law and the menace of Fascism to civilization. There will be an academic session, open to the public on Monday evening, May 13, at which the speakers will be Dr. Cyrus Adler, president of the Jewish Theological Seminary and of the American Jewish Committee; Dr. Abraham A. Neuman of Dropsie College in Philadelphia, and Rabbi Louis Feinberg of Cincinnati.

All sessions of the convention will be held at Temple Beth El in Rockaway Park and the Belmont Inn Hotel, the headquarters of the convention. Dr. Elias Margolis of Mount Vernon is president of the Rabbinical Assembly and Dr. Robert Gordis of Temple Beth El of Rockaway Park is chairman of the convention committee.
