In tribute to Max J. Schneider for his many years of activity as a philanthropist and civic leader, the Bronx division of the Young People’s League of the United Synagogues of America has designated next Tuesday as “Max J. Schneider Day,” according to an announcement Friday by Maxwell J. Mangold, president of the group.

Mr. Schneider, president of the National Safety Bank and Trust Company, has been prominently identified with charitable and fraternal affairs and conspicuous in many programs advocated to improve civic conditions in the city. For many years he has been active in non-sectarian philanthropic agencies and was one of the leaders in the movement that resulted in the construction of the $2,000,000 Bronx Hospital.
