Negotiations for a loan of $600,000 were started today by the Vaad Leumi, the Jewish National Council of Palestine, with the Prudential Assurance Company of London, after it became known that the same company has completed the formalities for granting a loan of $5,000,000 to the city of Tel Aviv.
Simultaneously, it is reported in today’s press that Prudential will also grant a loan of $250,000 to the Supreme Moslem Council, representive body of the Arabs in Palestine.
The Vaad Leumi loan from the London company will be assigned to building Jewish schools in Jerusalem Haifa, Tiberias and Safed.
