Officers and directors of the Home of the Daughters of Jacob yesterday gave a luncheon in honor of Mrs. Bessie Bernstein, first vice-president, at the Home, 167th Street and Findlay Ave. Mrs. Rebekah Kohut was guest speaker. Mrs. Peter J. Schweitzer, president of the Home, presided.

Rabbi Israel II. Levinthal of the Brooklyn Jewish Center will be guest speaker at the tenth anniversary luncheon on June 4 of the Mizrachi Women’s Organization, it was announced yesterday. Mrs. B. J. Goldstein, chairman, and Mrs. M. J. Fischman, co-chairman, are in charge of arrangements.

James Waterman Wise and Leon Dennen will be guests at the celebration of the official invitation by the Soviet government to 4,500 German, Polish, and Roumanian Jews to settle in Biro-Bidjan, to be given at the Manhattan Opera House Saturday night by the American committee for the settlement of Jews in Biro-Bidjan.

The Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations will hold a “Coordination Luncheon Conference” on Wednesday, May 22, at the Hotel Astor, when the executive board will meet with the personnel of the divisions and standing committees of Federation.
