About $8,000 was pledged to the United Jewish Appeal at a conference yesterday of the Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations at the Community House of Temple Emanu-El after Dr. Kurt Rosenfeld, Mrs. Felix M. Warburg and Mrs. Richard P. Limburg had pleaded for support of the campaign. More than 400 delegates representing 246 organizations were present.

Dr. Rosenfeld, exiled former Prussian Minister of Justice, declared that there is little hope for the Jews in Germany. He urged support of the U.J.A. drive for funds to settle German Jews in Palestine. Mrs. Warburg suggested that the campaign be considered the outstanding appeal of the day.

During the afternoon, Dr. Walter Van Kirk, of the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America, warned the delegates that war is impending and urged education for peace. He proposed a wartime embargo on all arms and credits to foreign nations.

Other speakers were Miss Cecilia Razofsky, executive director of the National Council of Jewish Women, and Mrs. David E. Goldfarb, who presided.
