The largest bequest ever made to Jewish charities was announced today when the will of Henry Eskell David was made public.
The David will bequeathes $1,250,000 to various Jewish institutions. The bulk of this sum is to be shared equally by the Anglo-Jewish Association and the Jewish Board of Guardians.
The will stipulates that the Anglo-Jewish Association spend the money to send promising students from Iraq to study in European countries. The Jewish Board of Guardians is to use its share for general charitable work.
