A new system of driving the Jews of Germany out of commerce by wrecking their stores was seen today in the repeated attacks on Jewish firms in Dusseldorf and Munich.
A mob of local Nazis invaded a Jewish store in Dusseldorf today and threatened to wreck it unless the owner immediately left town. Jewish stores continued to be picketed today in Munich by uniformed Nazis who would not permit prospective buyers to enter.
Acting apparently upon instructions, the police in both cities refused to intervene. The Jews in Bavaria are therefore making preparations to liquidate their business there and to proceed to Berlin or abroad.
EXTERMINATION OPEN AIM
The anti-Jewish terror in Germany is now becoming as bad as in the early days of the Nazi dictatorship. Nazi leaders make no secret of the fact that their object is the complete extermination of the Jews from Germany.
Seven of the nine German firms manufacturing gramophone records started a case in court against the German Broadcasting Company for breach of copyright. The companies asked for an injunction to prevent the broadcasting of records made in their factories.
In connection with this case, an announcement has now been issued here by Herr Hadamovsky, the Nazi Commissar for the broadcasting stations in Germany, declaring that he would see to it of his own accord that the broadcasting of gramophone records in Germany ceases.
In making this announcement, Herr Hadamovsky implied that “the action of the seven companies was part of an international campaign in which Jewish capital was deeply interested.”
The case is scheduled to come up in court on May 28.
