Jewish firms in Prussia are not to be permitted to use the word “German” in their signs, the Prussian Supreme Court ruled today.
“The word German is increasingly synonymous with ‘Aryan’,” the court explained.
In its decision the court also advised the introduction of stricter limitations in using the word “German” in the names of non-Aryan firms.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
