The possibility of a railway strike in Palestine was discussed today at a convention of railway workers held in Haifa in connection with the new government laws regulating wages for workers.
Dissatisfied with these laws, the convention today decided to send a delegation to the High Commissioner of Palestine to demand that the laws be amended so as to secure higher wages for the railway workers. Instructions were given to the delegation to warn the government that “quick action had better be taken” with regard to the wage scale.
Posters announcing the establishment of a new branch of the Arab Youth Federation in Palestine appeared today in Tulkarm, with slogans reading, “Nation Above Government,” “Justice Above Force.”
The all-Arab city of Tulkarm was also decorated today with posters ruging the Arabs not to pay government taxes as a protest against the increased Jewish immigration. Some of the posters also urged the killing of British officials.
