Dr. David Schweitzer, one of the European directors of the American Joint Distribution Committee, arrived in Poland today with a party for the purpose of making a thorough study of the Jewish economic situation.

The party will proceed from Poland to Soviet Russia, in order to study Jewish conditions there.

Representatives of 600 Jewish communities in Poland were prese## today at a special conference c### by the Jewish Community o###aw to devise a proper Jewish tr###e to the memory of the late Josef Pilsudski.

Thousands here last night attended a meeting in honor of Dr. Chaim Zhitlovsky, New York Jewish writer and philosopher whose seventieth birthday is now being celebrated throughout the world. The meeting was arranged by the Jewish Writers Union.

A loan of 30,000 zlotys was granted by the government to the Judaica Library in Warsaw, to complete the building for the library which is adjacent to the Warsaw Choral. Synagogue.
