The controversy between the Orthodox rabbis of Chicago and the schochtim has been amicably settled, it was announced here today.

The principle of equalizing the earnings of the schotim on a fair basis has been agreed upon and henceforth it will not be possible for one schochet to earn $75 a week while another earns only $10 or less.

The religious supervision, it was agreed, will be left entirely in the hands of the rabbis, while that of unionism will be in charge of a committee named by the International Meat Cutters’ Union, which took control of the union away from its local leaders recently.
