More than 100 delegates of the New England Region of the Council of Young Israel convened here to discuss the status of the Orthodox Jew in small suburban communities. Among the speakers was Dr. Nathan Isaacs of Harvard University, who declared that “education is the most important factor in keeping Orthodox Judaism alive.” Dr. Benjamin E. Bahn was elected chairman of the New England Region.
