The memory of Peter Smidovitch, chairman of the Comzet, Soviet committee for the settlement of Jews on the land, will be honorded at a meeting tonight under the auspices of the ICOR, association for Jewish colonization in the Soviet Union. The meeting will be held at the Broadway Central Hotel.

One of the features of the memorial gathering will be the showing of a film of the funeral of M. Smidovitch in Moscow. M. Smidovitch, who died on April 17, was non-Jewish, but was noted for his efforts in behalf of Jewish colonization work. He was instrumental in building up the five national regions and in the establishment of the first Jewish autonomous territory, Biro-Bidjan, in the Far East.

On the speakers list are Reuben Brainin, S. Almazov, Prof. Charles Kuntz, Peretz Hirshbein, Leon Dennin and others.
