The largest single contribution by American Jewry to the Jewish National Fund’s campaign for redeeming Palestine land will be the $75,000 expected to be realized from the June Night Frolic at the Yankee Stadium Wednesday night, it was announced Friday.
With a number of headline radio, screen and theatre stars scheduled to appear at the variety show, it is estimated that 2,500 entertainers, musicians and technicians are occupied in the revue.
The largest unit in the show will be a thousand-piece orchestra led by Boris Morros, co-chairman of the program committee, and comprising members of all major symphony orchestras in New York.
Major Edward Bowes, J. C. Flippen and Ray Perkins will participate in a joint amateur hour. Bert Lahr, Jack Pearl and Milton Berle will take part in another number, while another is built around Gertrude Niesen, Sophie Tucker, Jean Sargent and Mary Small.
The entire event will be broadcast by Radio Stations WMCA and WHN.
