The Nazi-controlled Danzig authorities today raided the printing plant of the Danziger Echo, the only Jewish newspaper in Danzig in the German language, and confiscated the issue of the paper before it came off the press.

No reason was given for the action, which is considered illegal and is in violation of the Danzig Constitution.

The Jewish population here is expecting an increased anti-Jewish campaign by the Danzig government which is floundering helplessly in a financial crisis. The deportation of Theodor Loewy, Echo editor, is regarded as the first step in this campaign.
