Tear gas bombs were thrown last night by Nazi agents into the Volksspiel Haus in Zurich, disrupting a performance of “The Beggars’ Opera” being given by German-Jewish artists who had been compelled to leave Germany because of the “Aryan Paragraph.”

Four of the Nazis were arrested by the police. They all turned out to be members of the National Front Organization, which is an anti-Semitic group in Switzerland.

The National Front Organization has decided to stage demonstrations against the performance of “The Beggars’ Opera” wherever it is given in Switzerland. Such a demonstration was staged on Sunday in Geneva, breaking up the performance.
