Representatives of the French government and of learned bodies participated today in the funeral of Baroness de Rothschild, who died here on Saturday.

The Baroness was buried at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery, near her husband, Baron Edmond de Rothschild, who died last November. The cemetery grounds were decorated in black. Chief Rabbi Weil of France and Rabbi Liber, director of the Rabbinical Seminary, officiated.

Simplicity marked the funeral Thousands, mostly women, representatives of various societies, followed the coffin slowly to the cemetery. The procession was headed by James de Rothschild and Maurice de Rothschild, sons of the Baroness. They were followed by the representatives of the Jewish Consistory and the Alliance Israelite Universelle.
