Drunken students today created a panic among the Jews here, when they boarded the Jassy-Kishineff express and began to beat up the Jewish passengers.

Several Jews were hurt, including a woman and a child, who were mercilessly beaten by the hooligans.

A few of the students were arrested, but after a superficial inquiry by the gendarmerie, the charges against them were dropped and they were released without punishment.
