pressed further, Mr. MacDonald was forced to admit that this regulation only applied to Jews, and that only Jewish tourists were required to post deposits before receiving visas to visit Palestine.

On an inquiry from Wedgwood, Mr. MacDonald also stated that eighty-five Jews are now held in detention for deportation from Palestine for allegedly entering the country illegally.
