A message of good will to the Jews of the world concluding with a Hebrew phrase expressing hope for universal peace was sent today by Cardinal Verdnier, papal legate to the Czechoslovakian Catholic Congress, to Rabbi Samuel Funk of Pressburg in reply to the rabbi’s felicitations to the congress.

The telegram concluded with the Hebrew expression, “Venattati sholom baaretz,” meaning, “And I shall grant peace in the land.”
