A pound note traveled from England to the Y.M. and Y.W.H.A. here for the benefit of the Criterion Camp Fund, annual cause that sends needy Jewish children to the State “Y” camps for a two-week vacation. The money, approximately $5, was the gift of Mrs. Arnold Levy, formerly of this city, whose husband is prominent in the London Jewish community.

The Y.M.H.A., said to be the first organization in the country to operate an indoor summer camp for the city’s children, has inaugurated the eighth season for Camp Vacation. Similar camp projects are now in operation in Passaic, Hackensack, and numerous cities throughout the country.
