The real reason for Economic Minister Schacht’s determination to insist at the Nazi Party Congress in Nuremberg that the war against the Jews be abated is based on the unsuccessful attempt of the Reich’s economic dictator to secure a loan of #200,000,000 in London and in New York, a special correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was authoritatively informed today.

Dr. Schacht, however, has not given up his attempts to secure the loan, and his prepared to make every effort in this direction.

London banking circles, it is learned here, informed Schacht that the persecution of Jews and Catholics, as well as the strong measures recently adopted to crush the Stalhelm organization, are taken as evidence that the German situation is not stabilized, and therefore a loan to Germany is considered insecure.
