The Grodno District Court has sentenced Samuel Steiner to twelve years in jail and Melach Kontorowski to two years for participating in the slaying of Wladyslaw Kuszcza, who was stabbed while taking part in anti-Jewish riot in Grodno last June 10.
The defendants were also ordered to pay Kuszcza’s family 30 zlotys a month as compensation.
Steiner and Kontorowski were two of the eight Jews held with 30 non-Jews after a Jewish self-defense corps had resisted an anti-Semitic attack which resulted in 60 injuries and unascertainable damage to property.
