Rites were conducted last night immediately after the Rosh Hashonah services, for Moses M. Roback, first secretary of the Canadian Zionist Federation nearly forty years ago, and active communal worker, who died here Friday, just before the Jewish New Year Holiday set in. Mr. Roback was 63 years old.

A brother of Dr. A. A. Roback, Jewish scholar and former Harvard professor, he had just finished writing a cheerful New Year letter to his family in Cambridge, Mass. when he succumbed suddenly. He was a noted Talmudic scholar and Hebraist, and took a leading part in Montreal Talmud organizations.

He is survived by his widow, four sons, including Dr. Harry Roback of Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, and five daughters. He also leaves four grandchildren and two sisters.
