Two American agencies have been set up to give financial aid to Christian refugees from Germany who have fled because of racial or political persecution, it was announced today.
The American Christian Committee for German Refugees, 287 Fourth Ave., headed by Dr. S. Parkes Cadman, will deal with Christians of Jewish origin, who have been deprived of their posts in Germany, numbering between five and six thousand. The Emergency Committee in Aid of Political Refugees from Nazism, 20 Vesey St., headed by Francis A. Henson, will deal with political refugees, regardless of race or creed, who were forced to leave Germany because of their liberal opinions.
Both committees will cooperate closely with James G. McDonald, League of Nations High Commissioner for German Refugees, and will raise money largely among Christians.
