Rumors circulated abroad about the fortification of Haifa, Palestine seaport town, because of the Italo-Ethiopian war, are thus far baseless, a Jewish Telegraphic Agency survey there disclosed today.

Except for a slight economic nervousness, especially in Tel Aviv, the all-Jewish city, Palestine is so far unaffected by the war and is continuing its normal work though it is eagerly watching developments.

Haifa, whose harbor has recently been greatly developed, is the terminus for the Mosul pipe-lines and one of the most valuable oil-shipping ports on the Mediterranean.
