Advocate Winterstein, a baptized Jew whose brother is a member of the Pilsen Jewish Community, was today occupying the post of Minister of Justice in the new cabinet directing the Austrian Government.
Winterstein replaces Karl Karwinsky in that position.
The cabinet purge, effected quietly and to the accompaniment of groundless rumors that the southern division of the Heimwehr (Home Guards) was marching on Vienna, deposed Major Emil Foy as Minister
of the Interior and put in virtual control of the Government Prince Ernst Ruodiger von Stahremberg, vice chancellor. Chancellor Schuschnigg continues as chancellor, but his power is completely overshadowed by that of the Prince.
Another dropped from the cabinet is Baron Ode Noustadter-Sturmer whose post as Minister of Social Welfare and Corporations is now occupied by Prof. Dobertsberger.
