A decree by the Ministry of Public Works today permits expropriation of the famous old Jewish cemetery in the heart of the city for conversion into an athletic field by the University of Salonica.

A joint meeting of the Jewish Community and representatives of various religious groups decided to send a delegation to Governor Pallis to protest against the decision. The delegation was instructed to point out to the Governor that Jewish cemeteries also are located in the center of such cities as Praha and Nice.
