After a month’s contest over division of portfolios in the recently-elected council of this all-Jewish municipality, the following allocations were made:
Vice Mayor Israel Rokach, finances; Mr. Pinkas of the orthodox Mizrachi, education; Mr. Perlson, health and social welfare; Mr. Zabarski, technical; Mr. Garfinkel, cultural; Mr. Shoshani of the landlords’ association, drainage and D. B. Benvenisti of the Sephardic Jews, water and lighting.
